The Effie award is the only major marketing communications award which reflects the combination of strategy, creative and resulting effectiveness of communications. It is the effectiveness which is the substance which truly sets Effie apart.



History
The Effie Awards were founded in the USA in 1968 by the American Marketing Association, New York Chapter, Inc. (New York AMA, www.nyama.org).  
For over forty years, the Effies have been promoting, educating about and celebrating effectiveness in advertisingand marketing communications.
1968 – The New York Chapter of the American Marketing Association a non-profit organization launches The Effie Awards

2008 – The Asia-Pacific Effie launched in 2008, by the Institute of Advertising Singapore (IAS), to allow effective national campaigns from the entire Asia-Pacific region tocompete head-to-head.
2009 – Costa Rica
2009 – GEMAS joined up with Effie Worldwide to launch the first GEMAS Effie MENA (Middle East North Africa)
Awards on November 5, 2009

2010 – Effie launches the US Collegiate PSA Challenge Competition giving students a chance to create a comprehensive marketing campaign that addresses real world challenges.
 





The Effie Awards identify the most significant achievement in marketing communications: ideas that work. Any marketing medium is eligible for an Effie, as long as results are proven, including Print, TV, Radio, Outdoor, Internet, Guerrilla, Digital, Package Design, Events, Street Teams, PR, Paid or Unpaid Media. Since 1968, winning an Effie has become a global symbol of achievement.
